Saint Valentine

I know you enjoy this celebration a lot, so I have planned some activities for you to do in class:

Now Your task is to find famous LOVE QUOTES or make your own.
Here you can read some I've found for you:

"I love you, not for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you."
Roy Croft

"Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all"
Hemmingway

"You know you're in love when reality is finally better than your dreams."
Unknown

"Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear."
John Lennon

Peace and non-violence Day

There are more than 30 wars or conflicts worldwide at the moment. All of us are hearing about Gaza these days. But some people are trying to stop this situation and there are plenty of symbols and signs for PEACE:
A dove with an olive branch or the Peace rainbow flag are some famous ones, but there’s one more symbol that is slowly spreading all around the world known as “Non violence” or “The knotted gun”.

In 1980 the Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd created an artwork. When he learned that his friend John Lennon had been murdered, he became so upset and angry over this senseless death and its unnecessary violence that he went to his studio and started working on the “non-violence” project.
Replicas of the sculpture have been installed in many countries since then, one of them in New York/USA at the Grounds of the United Nations; other replicas can be found in Luxembourg, Berlin, Cape Town, Liverpool, Lausanne, Stockholm, Miami or Göteborg.
Now it is our turn to think of a really great symbol to celebrate this day at our school and maybe in a few years one of our students will have his or her masterpeace all over the world.
Use your imagination!

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Have you already made your New Year's resolutions?
Not yet?
You must start doing them and the first day we meet we will talk about them in class. Some popular one are:
1.-Spend more time with family and friends
2.-Go to the gym and do some exercise.
3.-Lose weight
4.-Quit smoking.
5.-Enjoy life more.
6.-Quit drinking.
7.-Get out of debt.
8.-Learn something new.
9.-Help others.
10.-Get organized.

Remember your resolutions should be realistic. Don't promise something you won't be able to do. And if you want to see how people make their resolutions in New York you can see this video from

Yappr.com is a nice website where you can learn English watching videos, reading their tapescripts and translations and playing games on line.
I hope you like it.

And in this video you can see some other ideas for the new year:
